Bulk General Ledger Reports Enhancement

Overview of Enhancement

The Bulk General Ledger Reports enhancement delivers an improvement to financial reporting efficiency for Trust Accountants.

This release builds on Cirrus8’s existing General Ledger reporting framework by expanding the flexibility of multi-property reporting and introducing new Select By and Group By options across all key General Ledger report types.

These updates bring greater efficiency and control to financial reporting, particularly during month end by allowing Trust Accountants to produce and distribute multiple property reports in bulk.

General Ledger Reports now supporting bulk (multi-property) selection and grouping options:

  • Profit and Loss – already supported multi-property selection, now includes new Select By and Group By options.
  • Balance Sheet – already supported multi-property selection, now includes new Select By and Group By options.
  • Trial Balance – already supported multi-property selection, now includes new Select By and Group By options.
  • GL Transactions – now fully supports bulk generation for multiple properties, with added Select By and Group By functionality options.
  • GL Journal Report – now fully supports bulk generation for multiple properties, with added Select By and Group By functionality options.

Together these enhancements deliver a consistent and seamless bulk-reporting experience across core General Ledger pages.

Navigation: Trust Accountants can access these reports via the General Ledger menu by selecting the required report type from the sub-menu.


Key Enhancements

1. New “Select By” Filtering Options

Each report page now allows Trust Accountants to define the filtering of properties using Select By Report Options:

  • Property – Standard selection of one or multiple properties.
  • Property Group – Runs reports for all properties under a defined Property Group.
    • Property Groups can be set up by Trust Accountants via:
      • Configuration > System Configuration > add a new Property Group Parameter under Parameter Type: PROPGROUP
    • Assign a Property Group to a property via:
      • Properties > Property Summary > Select a Property > Overview Tab > Reporting section > Property Group
      • Click the edit pencil and select the relevant Property Group, then save with the green tick.
    • Only active Property Groups linked to at least one property appear.
  • Principal Owner – Runs reports for all properties associated with a principal owner.
    • The Principal Owner is defined in Property Summary > Overview tab > Owner section > Principal Owner.

These new filters streamline portfolio-level and ownership-level reporting workflows.


2. New “Group By” Report Options

Under Advanced Options, users can now control how results for multiple properties are exported:

  • Combined Report: Merges all selected properties into a single file.
  • Separate Report: Generates one file per property, packaged together in a ZIP file.

This gives Trust Accountants flexibility to choose between consolidated or individually separated reporting outputs.

Note: When more than 10 properties are selected for any of these Bulk General Ledger Reports, the report will be emailed to the user automatically via the Scheduler once processing is complete.
